Great little museum in the heart of Washougal
Great collection of local history. Now charging a mandatory "donation" of $40/hr and required babysitting appointment to use the library resources.
Wonderful museum with many antiques/artifacts displayed nicely. Unfortunately the volunteer gentleman followed us around for our entire visit there. While he was pleasant to talk with, I felt rushed and a bit under constant scrutiny. It definitely put a damper on my experience.
They feel that they have collected and maintained the resource and if people use it to write books, articles or anything besides personal, local family history, they might be missing out on money and recognition. Charging $5.00 per b/w photocopy. Wonderful resource that's basically unusable.
A fantastic place to spend a Saturday afternoon or take a weekday field trip and learn about the history of the Camas/Washougal area.
Very interesting smaller museum. Lot's of local historic items.
